I am a Professor at the Centre for Criminology & Sociolegal Studies, University of Toronto. My fields of study are sociolegal theory, historical sociology, sexuality studies, and urban governance and law. Recent publications include Chronotopes of law: jurisdiction, scale, and governance (London, Routledge, 2015) and Michel Foucault (Routledge 2017), an introduction to Foucault’s work for criminology and legal studies students.
My research for University Worlds focuses on the university as a financial actor. I am interested in how administrators make decisions about real estate investments, patents, licenses and research contracts, and related practices of transparency.
